Welcome

Dorset Insight is a brand new magazine

The physical magazine is distributed in and around Dorset in the Uk, but here you’re reading our online version.

It’s for savvy individuals wanting to:

  • Balance modern life with holistic & traditional concepts & values
  • Achieve a sense of happiness & balance whilst enjoying all that modern life has to offer
  • Maintain a common sense, practical approach throughout

We will cover alternative & complementary subjects & merge them with the conventional, just as we do in our daily lives, we didn’t want this magazine to be too esoteric & mystery – more real & practical.
I don’t believe we have to be either conventional or alternative – we can each of us find a mix, a balance that suits us, our friends & our families – enjoying the best of both worlds.

Our aim for Insight is simple – to offer Insight & Inspiration.

It’s not about teaching new concepts so much as about reminding us of who we really are. We can take the best from both worlds – old & new.
It’s all too easy to forget our spirit, our human spirit–we tend to let our clever, logical minds rule our lives & it’s time to bring more heart back into them.

There are all sorts of ways we can do that. It’s not necessarily in weird & mysterious ways, it is often in the simplest things: A friend of mine couldn’t get on with meditating or sitting for any length of time staring at the sea. He found his own sense of peace & pleasure sitting in a quiet coffee shop, with a book & large latte. He’d realised that when he emerged back into the world he felt more than ready to get on with his day.

That’s where Dorset Insight comes in.

We want to highlight all sorts of aspects, not just therapies but ideas & different ways of thinking. There’s definitely an inner intelligence & awareness within us 24 hours a day. It does not just arrive every time we meditate, have a treatment or a psychic reading.

So why not get in touch with it & be aware of it a little more each day – notice it whilst you read, whilst you walk, work & exercise. Notice it in your relationships, at work & at home. This leads us to becoming more aware generally & able to make choices in line with our inner self that allows us to live the life we really want – not the one we think we should have.

It’s definitely not about being perfect either we all make mistakes, we all worry, we all forget, more especially we can easily forget who we really are – & the power we each have.

This magazine is written by & to the Human Spirit – I may have been all sorts of wondrous things in a previous life, but right here, right now I want to share, live & read in alignment with my authentic self! So, I set about creating something I would want to read in the hope that others would find it enjoyable & useful too.
Dorset Insight will be delivered free to 1000’s of local addresses every month.Davina Skinner
